I found a Sky router. Is it possible to put OpenWRT on it?
I found a Sky router. Is it possible to put OpenWRT on it?
I read somewhere on Reddit that Billion routers are good for OpenWRT/DD-WRT – even though it is a 4/32 device (actually 8/32). I picked up a BiPAC 51025 for 10 baht, as I had seen this router numerous times.
The DSL-526B is not listed on the OpenWRT hardware page (alternative), although DSL-524T is. The DSL-526B has no USB ports.
I got hold of one of these for 40 baht in Yu Charoen, with the power supply (non-branded 12 V 1.5 A).
Remarkably, it appears to work, as the status lights will attest to:
Unfortunately, this model doesn’t have a USB port but there is a serial port inside. Supported by OpenWRT – the latest version 21.02.1. 16 MB Flash and 128 MB RAM. 3V3 board not 5V
Finally a router that can be used to control a Roomba..!
Yet another erstwhile USB router that isn’t supported… pathetic!
ZTE ZXHN H267N support – 64MB/128MB
Not much listed for this router, w.r.t. OpenWRT.
Only this: [Huawei HG8247H] Configurar Pen USB / Partilha de armazenamento.
I can’t find much listed for this router. Apparently the Broadcom chipsets aren’t well supported, from Techdata: D-Link DSL-2750B D1 there is not much FLOSS. Which is odd, as the recommended router (ASUS WL-500g Premium) from the Roomba book, is both Broadcom based and has limited FLash/RAM – both of which OpenWRT recommends against.
However, this router has a USB port, so it is a shame that it isn’t supported.
I nearly bought a Technicolor TC7200 (PDF – Specs, PDF – Manual) for 40 baht. It has a USB port and looked promising as a interface for a Roomba, however, there is no OpenWRT support, currently.
Notes to supplement Hacking Roomba, Chapter 4, Building a Roomba Bluetooth interface.
Plus, adding routers-for-brains, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and logic level-shifting
